Manage Edges

In Edge Conductor, multiple Edges can be registered, providing users with features to control the operation of Edges. Here are the steps to register, update, and delete Edges.


Register an Edge​

Edges → +New Edge

When the Edge App is installed and running, it automatically requests registration with the Edge Conductor. At this time, the serial number of the Edge App, the IP address and MAC address of the device, and Note information are sent to the Edge Conductor. If the registration target is confirmed through this information, the user can add Name, Location, Description, and Tag information to register the Edge. The registration of the Edge means that it is ready to receive models and solutions for inference.

Edge Conductor manages Edge Apps by serial number, ensuring that changes to the device's IP address do not affect management. Edge Names must be unique within the system and can be edited after registration. If an Edge App request is unwanted, users can reject the registration by clicking the Reject Edges button.

Edge Conductor supports a maximum of 50 registered Edges.

To register an Edge App​

  1. Navigate to the Edge Conductor and log in.
  2. In the left navigation pane, choose Edges.
  3. Tab New Edges(N), and check the list of requested registrations.
  4. Choose one edge to register, input edge name, location, and additional data. Users can utilize the note value of the registered edge request to identify which edge has been requested.
  5. Tab Save.

Reject Edges​

Edges → +New Edge → -Reject Edges

The Edge App has been requested to be registered with the Edge Conductor; however, the registration request for the Edge App can be rejected in the following cases.

  1. The Edge App is uninstalled by the device itself.
  2. There are no plans to use the Edge App on the Edge Conductor.

If the user rejects the registration request, a message will be sent indicating that the registration of the Edge App has been denied, and the Edge App will be removed from the list of eligible Edges. If the Edge App submits a new registration request afterward, it will reappear in the registration request list.


Unregister Edge​

Edges → Actions → Delete Edge

Unregistering a registered Edge involves initializing and deleting the Edge App installed on the corresponding Edge Device (or Endpoint). Once the Edge is unregistered, previously collected inference results and stream distribution history can no longer be accessed. It is recommended to unregister only when you no longer use the existing Edge and wish to initialize it to operate a new AI Solution.

To unregister an Edge​

  1. Navigate to the Edge Conductor and log in.
  2. In the left navigation pane, choose Edge.
  3. Select the edges to delete.
  4. On the upper right corner, click Actions and select Unregister Edge.
  5. Press Unregister.

Edge Details​

If you need to check detailed information about the device and app of a registered Edge, you can find it in the Details menu. The following information is displayed:

  • Meta Info: Displays the system registrar of the Edge App, creation date, and the meta information recorded during registration - location, description, and tag information.
  • Device Info: Displays the OS and CPU/GPU information of the Edge Device, as well as the IP and MAC address information to which the device is connected.
  • Edge App Info: Displays the application version and installation time, note information and parameter information, and serial number.
  • Stream Info: Displays the AI Solution deployed on the Edge App, stream and model version, and deployment time.
